2JZ SWAP RX7

This car started as what many call a "roller" which is basically a car body with wheels. Meaning it can roll around but thats about it. I picked up the car in October of 2009, with the intention of swapping to a 2JZ motor. That task took me a lot longer than anticipated because I bought the Supra in early 2010. The Supra ended up getting most of my attention but I never forgot about this car. I put time into it when I could find it, and in the end it took me 4 years to complete this build.

The car was in partial primer, no interior, and everything was in boxes and not labeled. It was a basketcase for sure, but it was something I wanted to turn around into a killer street car.

The motor and v160 transmission I found in NJ from a wrecked US-spec supra. I had Don at Accelerated Performance do a budget 3.0L motor which basically is off-the-shelf Eagle rods and Wiseco pistons. The head remained unported but Dave at Headgames added shimless buckets and HKS 272 cams.

The turbo setup consists of a precision 6466 on top of a DoubleD tuning exhaust manifold with a precision 66mm wastegate. The intake manifold is by inline6performance, which i had to notch to clear the brake booster.

The car has been a best of 9.66 @ 153 rowing gears on the 6-speed transmission. Overall I am very happy with this car, it could be turned up even more, but the car does not have any safety equipment and I do not plan on ever putting a cage in this car.
