Full bolt in T56 Magnum-F swap kit for 2JZ swapped Subaru BR-Z, Scion FR-S and Toyota FT86. This kit includes a brand new Tremec T56 Magnum-F (with available upgrades to heavy duty synchronized street GR1000 or the ultra heavy duty race GR1000F). This kit includes a Quicktime SFI Steel bell housing, shifter handle, chromoly transmission mount, bluetooth wiring harness, bellhousing index plate, and all hardware required.
Driveshafts and clutches are optional, but recommended to make this an easy bolt-in experience, and ensure you have all the parts and hardware needed.
This is perfectly setup for a 2013+ Toyota 86, Scion FR-S, and Subaru BR-Z. The shifter sits perfectly in the factory location. The only non-bolt-in process is drilling four holes for the crossmember and tunnel modifications that are required for any of the FT86 transmission swaps.
The stock tremec Magnum-F is rated at 700 ft lbs of torque. Just for comparison, the Getrag is only rated around 500 ft lbs in stock form. These T56 Magnum transmissions are STOUT and will outlast a V160 at high power levels. Everything I build is tested rigorously in my racing program. No one else pushes these parts to the level I do! You can rest assured all parts go through my quality control and abused to test the limits of these 6-speed transmissions!
The wiring harness we include makes for a super clean and simple install. But not only that, it has a bluetooth module with you can play with the settings such as reverse lockout control, and convert and adjust the T56 speed signal to make the factory speedometer work perfectly. No more need to cut down the reverse lockout spring or wire in a manual reverse unlock switch, this will auto unlock reverse under a set MPH (defaults to 4mph)! All of the settings are all adjustable through your smart phone with an app.
In 2016, I built and tested the first Supra T56 Magnum kit behind a 2JZ in my own car to be a direct replacement for the Getrag V160. I did this as V160 parts dried up and I needed a transmission to continue my racing program. The Tremec Magnum has turned out to be an overall stronger and more capable transmission!
These transmissions also have great aftermarket support, aftermarket gearsets, and parts readily available for when you ruin a synchro or break a gear tooth.

We take a brand new Magnum-F Trans and give it a full REM polishing and Cryogenic treatment of the gear set. We do a 1st thru 4th carbon fiber blocker ring upgrade. We take a brand new Magnum-F Trans and faceplate 1st-4th gears. Includes custom billet shift forks, bronze fork pads, and then we do a cryogenic treatment of the gearset, and then also do a full rem polishing of the gearset. This is basically a GR1000 transmission, but ADD ON faceplating of 1-4 gears for ultra fast shifts for drag or road racing use. Read more here: GR1000F Transmission
The OEM tunnel has a sheetmetal brace that is required to remove, this is required if you are doing ANY transmission swap, so this is a common process. It also will need minor clearancing near the starter and by the reverse lockout switch. These are relatively simple and minor adjustments. We used the xcessive motor mounts for this mockup, but this transmission kit should fit any of the 2JZ swap mounts for the BRZ/FRS.
The T56 Magnum transmission gearing matches up PERFECTLY to the 86 stock rear 4.10 gearing. You will love the overall gearing when combined with the T56 Magnum-F ratios.
