Strain Gage shifter for the GR1000F transmission. A strain gauge measures deflection in the metal of the shifter. This basically tells the ECU when you are putting pressure on the shifter which allows you to cut power and shift without using the clutch. This makes for ultra-fast, super clean shifts.
The strain gage itself generates a 0-5v signal based on how much force is applied to the shift lever. With a capable computer, this allows clutchless shifting with a dog engagement gear set. Your ecu will need to be able to generate an ignition cut based on a high and a low voltage (1v and 4v for example) and keep the ignition turned off for a preset amount of time (30-200ms). We have all the parameters for the MoTeC ecu and I can provide that information.
This shifter should not be used with a stock synchronizer style transmission like the V160, R154, TR6060, W58, or CD009. You must have a dog engagement gearset to be able to shift without the clutch. We can take any factory 6060, or t56 magnum and turn it into a dog engagement box, just ask!
